The D3 ATT Mobility Contract was ratified

As with all the other Mobility contracts, the one we just completed with AT&T involved difficult bargaining. In light of the company?s position on economic issues and refusal to make many changes in language we proposed, the bargaining team believes we achieved the best contract possible. This is a tentative agreement until ratified by majority vote of members. Your Bargaining Committee unanimously recommends ratification of this agreement.

We met with the company earlier today and the company responded to some of our proposals and then passed a final economic package as well as the remaining items they were willing to agree to. After lengthy discussion and questions we finally reached a tentative agreement (T/A) on a new four year contract including wage increases each year and many other improvements that will benefit the Mobility membership.

We have been unable to reach an agreement on a new Mobility contract at this time so the parties have agreed to a 72 hour Contract extension. We will update you when the situation changes.

The bargaining committee did not meet yesterday as we were continuing to work on issues and waiting on the company to respond to many Union proposals. Your Bargaining committee met with AT&T Company representatives this morning to continue bargaining discussions.

CWA Members in District 3 and around the country are supporting their CWA ATT Mobility Bargaining Team currently in negotiations.

Your Mobility Bargaining committee met yesterday late afternoon to continue discussions. We did not have any new proposals but did question some of those previously passed by the company concerning eliminating Illness absence pay and gutting of the Short Term disability eligibility.

Due to the extreme weather in the Atlanta area the bargaining teams did not meet yesterday. However, the Union team worked on proposals and data gathering all day in the hotel work room.

Your Mobility Bargaining committee met today with AT&T Company representatives. The Union did not pass any new proposals as were waiting for responses from the company on the 29 we passed yesterday.

Your Mobility Bargaining committee met today with AT&T Company representatives and each Chair gave opening remarks prior to start of bargaining. Company Chair Steve Frost gave the basic ?we have to compete? and we need to sustain the business. CWA Chair Gerald Souder gave opening remarks (attached) emphasizing the importance of our Mobility members in making AT&T successful and our demand that they share in the success of the company.

We, the CWA Bargaining Committee, are proud to represent over 13,000 Mobility employees in the District 3 Contract. We are committed to reach an agreement that meets legitimate needs of the Company while at the same time, achieving economic gains for our members as well as improving the working conditions they deal with every day.
