As bargaining continues, AT&T?s focus turned to Memorandums and Letters of Agreement that are in effect until contract expiration.

The Union and the Company met on Friday July 27th & Monday 7/30. The majority of the session was spent discussing details surrounding the healthcare and pension proposals presented by the Company. The Union made various data requests regarding anticipated cost savings and the effect of these proposals on the employees.

The Company recently passed a proposal to put PremTechs in an appendix of the core contract. Your team challenged the appropriateness of bringing this subject to the core table while it was being addressed by another bargaining team. We were advised this was a permissive subject however it would involve Article 14 which is a mandatory subject.

Your Utilities Bargaining committee met today with AT&T Company representatives today and continued to get the same answers from the company about any improvements in the contract.

The Union and the Company met on Tuesday July 24th. The first part of the bargaining session was utilized to review current outstanding proposals and ask clarifying questions regarding those proposals. The Union and Company each went through this process and many of the market related proposals that the Union has presented thus far, were discussed in detail.

Your Utilities Bargaining committee met today with AT&T Company representatives Friday and again this morning. Friday the Union presented proposals to add sickness payments, and to add new work that is currently contracted out, including a proposed trial on some new work opportunities. We also passed a proposal to put the Utility Operations employees in the Bell South Telecommunications contract.

Your Utilities Bargaining committee met today with AT&T Company representatives and each Chair gave opening remarks prior to start of bargaining. The company presented three proposals, one cleaning up language due to entity name changes. Others were related to vacation accrual, and temporary workers.

The Union and the Company met on Friday July 13th and Monday July 16th to pass proposals. The majority of the proposals passed by the company were eliminating language that may not be applicable in our current working environment. We will carefully dissect each of these proposals.

Bargaining continues! Most proposals have been put on the table by the Company and CWA.

The Union and the Company met on Tuesday, July 10 to pass proposals. The majority of the proposals passed by the company were clean up language deleting references to AT&T and BellSouth.

Monday, July 9, 2012 -- YP Holdings bargaining kicked off with a rally in front of the YP Headquarters building it Tucker, GA. Kudos to Walter Andrews and the members of Local 3204 who turned out en masse to let the leadership of YP know that we are united and ready to take action if necessary to achieve a just and fair contract.

Bargaining resumed with the company's answers to questions asked last week on healthcare and benefit proposals. The company continues to attempt to bargain as if it is a bankrupt company instead of the Communications giant we have all built.

There have been many proposals passed by CWA and the Company.

The Company continues to pass retrogressive proposals that burdens CWA and it?s members such as:

At the Common Interest Table the company continued attacks with proposals on medical, retirement, tuition aid, a three tier benefits package and elimination of full time Claims Facilitator and Managed Care Specialist.

Following the opening remarks, bargaining began with the company passing three (3) proposals which were characterized as clean up language in numerous contract articles and appendices.

At our District 3 meeting held in Myrtle Beach this year we honored the first ?District 3 Woman of the Year?. We put the call out to our Local Presidents last year requesting nominees. The Women?s Committee was pleased with the great resumes sent in. We were able to keep the winner a secret until she was announced at the meeting and everyone enjoyed the excitement.
