Today your bargaining team had discussions with the company around Wire Technician and call center employees' work-life balance, changes to the surplus process in order to gain greater job security in the event of further force reductions, and several other issues brought to the team through the bargaining task force. Your Utility Operations Bargaining Team met with the company today and received some proposals that we will have further discussion on. CWA responded by passing multiple proposals that addressed your main concerns regarding Forced OT, Days Off, Safety, Job Security, etc. in an effort to improve our quality of life. Over the last two days, the team has discussed proposed changes to improve the surplus process, improve work rules for all our members, and a comprehensive benefits proposal. We are working diligently to achieve a fair contract prior to expiration. Mobilize, Mobilize, Mobilize.

Today your bargaining committee met in caucus to formulate a counter to the company’s catastrophic benefits proposal. It is far from what we consider a fair proposal. We will do our best to move the company to where we need to be, to achieve a good contract for the membership. Thanks to Local 3517 for the care package. Today your bargaining team met in various subcommittees, with discussions concerning the grievance process, standby, uniforms, job security, consumer quota relief, flexibility in scheduling time off, and work life issues. We are strenuously working to get the contract you deserve and demand. In case you have not heard, the company is preparing for contract expiration.

Today we met again in Sub Committees. We had immense discussions about the surplus and the associated road blocks. We are working to gain greater job security, and as many options as possible for all members in a surplus. Keep mobilizing.

We continued meeting in subcommittees today. The subcommittees are discussing solutions to the issues raised by the membership. There are numerous issues being addressed and we are looking at innovative approaches to reach solutions that our members expect. Mobilize!!
