The preliminary rounds of bargaining are over and the real fight has begun. The company passed retrogressive proposals eliminating time and one half for Sundays; moving the double time trigger to 60 hours; and seeking the right to contract out work currently protected in Article 14., just to mention the most objectionable ones. We will spend the remainder of the week passing and receiving proposals so we can evaluate how negative the company is going to be throughout bargaining, and how tough a fight we can anticipate.
