AT&T - Legacy T and Puerto Rico Contracts Ratified By A Large Margin

The tentative agreement between CWA and AT&T Corp. (Legacy T) has been ratified by a 77% “yes” vote. A separate Contract for AT&T Puerto Rico was also ratified by the members there. This was an extremely difficult round of bargaining with demands from AT&T that would have frozen the pensions of future retirees, eliminate pensions for new hires and greatly increased the amount our members pay for medical care.

Lisa Bolton, Vice President for the CWA T&T office said, “The Bargaining Team made it clear to AT&T that it was “our turn” for fairness. We are thankful for the hard work of the elected Bargainers, then-Vice President Bill Bates, the Staff and all Locals who stepped up to support the team and build our mobilization activities.”

As soon as we receive information from the Company about when you will see your wage increase and retroactive pay, we will notify the Locals and post the information on this site. The benefit changes do not take effect until January 1, 2016.

Mobilization should not end with Contract ratification. We need to protect the Contract from both violations by the Company and from Politicians, seeking to weaken our collective bargaining rights. We need to stay educated, active and united.
