2015 CWA ATT SE BARGAINING REPORT #9

Your team met today at the bargaining table.  We proposed protection for the Success Sharing Plan, an increase in pay for temporary transfers to a higher wage zone, and improvements to family of skills.  We proposed an increase in vacation while lowering the thresholds for receiving vacation allotments.  We also proposed removing “needs of business” and “service requirements”.  We recommended language to protect employees’ pay and attendance during a state of emergency and an incentive for perfect attendance.  We presented a plan to increase job security that included a “no layoff agreement and a successorship clause.  The team made it clear that employees should receive wage increases equivalent to that of the CEO.

The company made no proposals today.  However, the District Office has been notified by Labor Relations that the company intends to temporarily suspend the home garaging program for Wire Technicians in the Southeast.  Apparently our mobilization efforts are sending a strong message to the company that we are ready to do whatever it takes to secure a fair and just contract even in the shadow of this acquisitive company.
