Talks have slowed severely this evening. The company is unwilling to provide a work / life balance and are attempting to write company policy into the contract. We are still very far apart on reaching an agreement.

Brothers and Sisters, we have had many discussions over the remaining proposals. Some progress has been made in areas that could be beneficial to our members. But unfortunately, the company is digging in on certain proposals that threaten our job security and our ability to support our families.

Over the last few days, the Company and Union have met and passed many proposals. We have made positive progress reaching tentative agreements on several items. While both sides continue to bargain in good faith, we are still a long way apart.

Making Sure Your Vote Counts

Many people are voting at home and returning ballots by dropping them off at a secure ballot box or putting them in the mail. These ballots can take longer to process and will continue to arrive at election offices for several days after Nov. 3.

Local 3204 hosted the MLK March Committee meetings this year as we have done for over the past ten years. Members of our Executive Board and stewards joined the committee and help plan and coordinate the March and Rally. Our members and there families joined with other Unions and marched thru the streets of downtown Atlanta to the King Center. Our Metro Atlanta Rapid Transportation Authority (MARTA) provided us with a bus to transport members to and from the March.

AT&T is Abandoning Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands

Just weeks after billionaire CEO Paul Singer’s Elliott Management Corporation announced that it had acquired about 1% of AT&T and laid out plans to extract profits from the company by cutting jobs and selling off critical assets, AT&T announced its intention to sell off wireless and wireline operations in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands to Liberty Latin America, a company with a history of union-busting and job cuts.
