February 13, 2012 - Surprise Attack
On February 13, 2012 CWA Retirees, Jobs with Justice and Occupy Atlanta entered the AT&T Building on West Peachtree Street in Atlanta to demand that AT&T rescind on the 740 layoffs immediately. They locked arms and sat down. The company were caught completely off guard and even stated they the were not expecting them until the 14th. All 12 were arrested.
Meanwhile outside the building a larger group consisting of members of CWA Local 3204, JWJ, Occupy Atlanta, Teamsters marched down Peachtree Street to the AT&T building. They rallied in front of the building demanding that AT&T rescind the layoffs.
As the rally continued members of Occupy Atlanta set up tents in front of the building and have vowed to remain their until AT&T rescind the layoff.
