For at least the last two election cycles we have said that the election was the most important one ever. That was true each time and it is even more true in 2008.

If we are to take this Country back from the greedy corporate executives and return it to the working women and men of America we must elect a Democrat as president and increase the Democratic majority in the House and Senate.

Union density in the private sector has dropped to 7%. In order to turn the downward spiral of union membership around it is imperative Congress passes the Employee Free Choice Act and the next President signs it into law.

Both Democratic candidates have pledged to work for passage of EFCA and to sign it into law. John McCain has strongly opposed EFCA and has vowed to veto the bill if he is elected President. McCain has also vowed to make the tax breaks permanent for the richest 1% of Americans. He also opposes any type of National Health Care Plan and will continue tax subsides for the major oil companies who are already reaping outrageous earnings.

CWA is in the process of rolling out training on a Health Care and an EFCA Strategic Industry Fund Plan initiative to educate our members on the extreme importance of these issues.

A pilot training is being conducted in Atlanta for an AT&T Strategic Industry Fund Plan that also incorporates EFCA and Health Care.

Passage of EFCA and a National Health Care Plan will greatly increase our effectiveness in bargaining by increasing union density and getting major health care issues off of the bargaining table.

Although it has not yet been decided who the Democratic candidate for President will be one thing is sure, either candidate will be far better for working families than John McCain.

I respect Senator McCain for his service to this country, but as President he would continue many of George Bush's policies that have all but destroyed America's middle class.

I ask each of you to do all you can between now and the elections in November to make sure we elect a President and a Congress who will return America to working Americans

Thank you in advance for all that I know you will do toward this effort.

In Unity,

Noah
