ATT-SE Pension Calculation

It appears that the GATT rate plus the PPA calculation has gone down for the 2012 plan year which will produce higher lump sums after the New Year. As a fall back the pension guarantee was extended for the length of the current contract meaning that the highest December 31 pension calculation will be honored should the pension go down. Some of our members are being encouraged to retire prior to the end of the year. There is no financial reason to retire immediately in fact it is financially advantageous to wait until after the first of the year.
