I am pleased to announce that on August 13, 2014, CWA Local 3181 reached a tentative agreement with the Village of Tequesta. We will be taking this to a ratification vote on August 29, 2014.

It is very disappointing when less than a year from bargaining, one of the companies we negotiate with has begun “union busting tactics.” YP has chosen to inform our members how to terminate their union membership with hints from management “why bother to belong!” Please!

Formal bargaining between Alcatel-Lucent and the CWA Telecommunications & Technologies Sector has been going on in Washington DC since May 6, 2014. Late Saturday night a tentative agreement was reached.

If the Kentucky House of Representatives flips five House seats the wrong way in this 2014 election cycle, then Kentucky will become a Right to Work state. Jerry Carney, President of Local 83761 took extraordinary action when he made a motion to the membership of Local 83761 to make a $50,000.00 combined contribution to two groups: Kentucky Family Values and Working America.

The D3 ATT Mobility Contract was ratified

As with all the other Mobility contracts, the one we just completed with AT&T involved difficult bargaining. In light of the company’s position on economic issues and refusal to make many changes in language we proposed, the bargaining team believes we achieved the best contract possible. This is a tentative agreement until ratified by majority vote of members. Your Bargaining Committee unanimously recommends ratification of this agreement.

We met with the company earlier today and the company responded to some of our proposals and then passed a final economic package as well as the remaining items they were willing to agree to. After lengthy discussion and questions we finally reached a tentative agreement (T/A) on a new four year contract including wage increases each year and many other improvements that will benefit the Mobility membership.
