AT&T Mobility Bargaining Kickoff 06/03/2008

AT&T Mobility Bargaining Kicks off  June 3, 2008:

Bargaining began with opening statements from the company and the CWA Bargaining Team.   Our bargaining team let them know that we are here to represent our members, their  employees...their assets that have made Mobility the number one Wireless Company that it is today  and these employees should share in the profits by having the number one "health care benefits contract".

The company needs to invest in its "number one asset", it's employees and ensure that these employees have the best health care package that is available so that they will remain loyal employees of mobility. By doing this, you will be ensuring mobility's continued growth and reign as the number one wireless company.

Our bargaining team won't accept the company 'poor mouthing" about the high cost of health care. The contributions the employees have made to this company warrants improvements not give backs.  Retrogressive; is NOT in our vocabulary!

As Ralph de LaVega, President and CEO of  Mobility, pointed out last month, "mobility is on top in market share - 71.4 million customers, and as he stated  the employees' discipline, customer focus and hard work are unmatched!"

* Record gross ads for 1st Quarter - 5 million

* Record revenue Growth 18% increase year over year in total revenue

* Service Revenue grew 17%

We bring these points to this table to remind your team that your employees of Mobility, NOT Randall Stephenson, NOT the Mark Royce's, accomplished these goals and record setting double digit growth for 12 consecutive quarters and made Mobility #1!

Your employees are the ones who made this happen!!!

This bargaining team has been sent here to ensure that these #1 employees share in the profits which should equate to a #1 health care package. If AT&T Mobility is serious about staying #1, there should be no question it will treat its employees as they so justly deserve, it is not praise that these employees need but rather the ability to have the ability to come to work, by staying healthy via a good health care package. AT&T you have the opportunity to show your

dedicated and hard working employees that their efforts are not to go unnoticed, nor unappreciated. Step up to the table and recognize these employees who made you number one. Show these employees not only are you number one in profits and customer base...but the number one employer in healthcare.

After the opening statement, bargaining began full force.

We also welcomed the rally hosted by CWA Local 3204.  Support was there from the AFL-CIO, IBEW, the Teamsters, UAW, UFC, OPEIU, Atlanta North Georgia Labor Council and CWA.    We really appreciated the show of support on our first day of bargaining.  Since this is a nation-wide contract, the bargaining report will be posted on the National Website.  The bargaining team appreciates your continued support.
